The Similarities Subtest of the WAIS-IV is a verbal comprehension test that measures verbal concept formation and reasoning.

Scoring and Psychometric Properties
Scoring: The participant is presented with two words which represent common objects or concepts and has to describe how they are similar.
The scores on each item vary according to the degree to which the response describes a property applicable to both items in the pair of words. Raw scores are converted to age-corrected standard scores, with a mean of 10 and standard deviation of 3.
